In the Holy Land of 1400 B.C., The kabala was studied and practiced by Rabbis. The Tree of Life (pictured at left) is a magical symbol with great mystic powers.

When Nostradamus was a small child (pictured at right), his family had converted to Catholism under threat from the Inquisition which demanded that Jewish or pagan peoples get out or be put to death. His father was a prosperous notary, but young Nostradamus' greatest influence came from his two grandfathers, both of whom were physicians in royal households, outstanding scholars and among those who wished to preserve the secrets of the Jewish kabala and forbidden ancient magic rituals.
