NARRATOR:
Uri Geller has traveled all over the world demonstrating his
phenomenal abilities, including mental telepathy. For example,
before he arrived, a newswoman drew a picture and placed it in an
envelope. Then, in front of television news cameras, he drew what
she had drawn.
GELLER: "Draw it once more, in your mind, try to draw it
on my face...oh right!" (laughter)
NARRATOR: This phenomena
has been termed inergy,
the control of psychic energy by intelligence. He talked about
how it feels to have this power.
Right,
A video frame of Geller bending a key on YouTube.
GELLER: "Well, you see it's not that I just got this power
yesterday, but I grew up with it, so I learned to live with this."
NEWSWOMAN: "Does it change?"
GELLER: "Well; I can't say that it grows, but I can say when I was very young, for instance, when I did telepathy, it would take me fifteen
minutes to do something, today it takes me minutes."
NARRATOR:
Geller also uses his mind to bend metal. Unlike Ninel Kulagina, however, Geller doesn't
appear to be exerting himself when attempting psychokinesis.
NEWSWOMAN: "Your're thinking..."
GELLER: "Yes, I'm thinking bend, bend, bend."
NEWSWOMAN: "With only the slightest touch and no application of heat, the key started to bend. It continued to bend gradually for several hours."
GELLER: "Do you see the bend? Look, I'll put it down here. Yea, its not much but its...You know in an hour or two it'll be more bent, you know. That's the point, that when nobody touches it -- I'm gone...the object keeps bending."
