Temples in Cyberspace
This 1996 screen-shot of some virtual reality "real estate" (left) is
what was known as "AlphaWorld". Alpha World provided visitors with the tools to
to build their own structures in VR and establish a "homestead".
Note the visitor to AlphaWorld walking by in his
ready-made body of a surfer. When you see a 3-D figure, like the surfer, moving across your virtual
landscape, you can click on the figure to begin exchanging messages back and forth in the message box.
