TIME LINE___________
Psychic Investigators in medieval times were under
the influence of Church doctrine. It was a time when the Devil
was felt to be very real and close by. For three or four hundred
years hundreds of thousands were burned as
witches
or heretics. Investigators of the day studied saint's bones, the Holy Grail,
the philosopher's stone - but mixed their Christian mythology with
pagan concepts of the ancient Greeks and Romans.
Occult philosophers
from Casanova to Paracelsus were typical of the psychic investigators of the time.
Their convoluted reasoning about the mysteries of nature help explain why these were
known as the 'dark ages.'
